Innovating Fishing Boat Design

Historically, fishing progressed from utilizing hands, sticks, clubs, harpoons, hooks, and etc. until net fishing was invented. Net technology advanced so that it is now easy to catch most species of fish. However, there are significant problems with net fishing compared to the technology I have developed.
This inventor was born in small fishing village in Croatia and understands the behavior of fish.
Like people, and animals, fish like a "free lunch". Fish, especialy tuna, travel great distances to find food. Today, tuna is caught by nets and hooks. It is an expensive and time consuming method. My system is simple, fast, inexpensive, and can be quality selective. It is uniquely designed floating fish trap marine vessle. This "trap katamaran" easily fools fish as they enter the submerged chamber where the bait is seeded.
How it works:
The bait (small live fish) is pumped from on board storage outside the boat to fish schools. Slowly bait is also pumped into the onboard chamber on the boat. The the fish follow the bait into the boat. As the fish concentration increases in the chamber a gate is closed and the fish are trapped in the chamber in good condition and unharmed by net cuts and hooks. The fish are safe in the boat for storage or live delivery to various destinations.
In order to catch different species of fish various sizes of mesh nets are used. The net is rolled from one side of boat and is pulled across the bottom of the boat by oposite rollers. There are three sizes of nets on the three rollers. Also there are three or more net sizes on the gate posts that lock the chambers.
The boat can also catch fish attracted by light such as sardins, squid, and etc.
This boat offers great flexibility. It can travel at high speed and deliver live fish to multiple destinations, or freeze fish alive on the boat (vacuum freeze).
The boat can pull a net like a troller (bottom net) and dump it into the water chambers inside boat so small fish will escape through mesh (self selection) according to regulatory bylaw mesh size. This boat can clean the ocean environment by havesting floating debris such as plastic, wood, and etc. and has the potential to be utilized in oil spill clean up.

I have an idea that can revolutionize the fishing industry. This idea has major potential to become very big. The concept is quite simple, it is a large boat that is able to catch fish without a net, hook, or teams of men.
In order to fully understand how influential this idea is, one must first understand how fish work. I have vast experience working with fish as I have been a fisherman for several years. Firstly, fish are not scared of boats. In fact, they tend to swim with them. This ingenious idea I am about to explain makes it possible to catch fish, securely holds fish, and brings them to a water port alive.
The reason why this boat is so unique and will work is because it is hollow in the middle and surrounded by cages. The captain drives the boat and simply releases bait inside the cage. As the schools of fish swim into the cage the captain will simply close the cage and drive back to port with a fresh easy catch. With this design, it is also possible for the captain to sail over a school of fish and close the cage. The middle of the boat also has many cages making it possible to catch different kinds of fish in one outing. The boat will also be able to catch fish at night, as fish are attracted to light. When it is desired to catch fish at night, a light will be shined inside the cage to attract fish. Once they are in, they can be safely escorted back to port.
This is a large boat able to make multiple catches in one outing. It works like a freight boat able to descend and arise by releasing water or taking it in. This is so one can be able to catch fish at a reasonable depth. The cage system is also designed to be able to save space inside the middle of the boat and to make catching the fish as efficient as possible.
What sets this method of catching fish apart from other large volume fishing is that the fish are alive when they are brought into port. Live wild salmon could be available to coastal cities as well as cities far inland.
I hope I have expressed the passion I have for implementing this design. This idea will work and will help create more jobs and also help feed mankind.
